Ansteensen, Elinore M, 1921-2009

Elinore M. (Breen) Ansteensen (May 31, 1921-October 8, 2009) was born on May 31, 1921 in Westbrook, Maine to Charles and Hazel (Meserve) Breen.  She was raised and educated in Westbrook, Maine, and graduated from Westbrook Junior College, and later Merrimack College in Andover, where she earned her degree in Library Science.

 

Mrs. Ansteensen served as the Director of the Topsfield Public Library for nearly 25 years before retiring in 1994.

 

Elinore Ansteensen was an active member of the Congregational Church of Topsfield. She was also a member of the Topsfield Writing Group and the Republican Town Committee. She was active in many Topsfield Town Circles. She volunteered for many years as an Ombudsman and poll worker at Town Elections.

 

Elinore passed away on Thursday, October 9, 2009, at the Hunt Nursing and Retirement Center in Danvers.
