The Topsfield Town Librar
y was founded in 1875 by residents interested in establishing a free library.1 The library collection was housed in the Town Hall. The original free standing library building, designed by Boston architect Harold Field Kellogg, opened in 1935. As the community grew and information needs changed, other changes were made to the library.
The most recent renovation and construction project resulted in the opening of the current library facility in 1999. This reinvented library offers space for public meetings, computer workstations, and Internet access.
The Topsfield Town Library is a member of the Merrimack Valley Library Consortium.
